Primary Purpose:
Our primary purpose in seeking a grant writer is for operational and project funding.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
Our goal for 2021 is to identify and certify 10 new self-defense Instructors -- one-two from each target community, prepare them to and provide assistance in establishing ESD Program services within their communities, and hire them at either $25.00/hour plus benefits or the equivalent salary plus benefits so that they can focus on providing services and growing their programs.

The cost of a 10-day certification training includes paying trainees a stipend of $720 each to help cover their costs at home while attending the training, paying the instructor team for the program -- $5,000.00; covering the cost of other needed certifications -- such as first aid, victim advocacy, and first responder, and trauma-informed care -- at an approximate cost of $4000.00 for all programs; travel and lodging estimated at $11,000.00; and materials -- such as printed materials, ASSERT Instructor gear, tools, equipment for each instructor to take home, and other similar items -- at an estimated cost of $5000, totaling $32,200.

We must also cover 2 staff members, the executive director and the chief impact officer for management, at a cost of $140,000 per year.
Project Description:
Provide your hourly rate for research and locating grants for: 1 hours per week for 1 weeks.   For a total of 1 hours.
I would like a quote on what the research would look like and estimated time to identify and apply for 5 additional grants to help cover these expenses. The research hours listed are basically in there because the form required something.

We presently provide or will be providing services in the geographic areas of: Initially, to underserved communities across the state of Tennessee, with the goal of expanding that reach nationally in 2022.
We bring trauma-informed, culturally relevant empowerment self defense education to underserved communities at no charge.
Current Revenue:
Currently, we also provide our services to higher income areas, schools, universities, and companies in order to generate revenue.

We have previously applied for a grant(s).
While we have only existed as a nonprofit for one year, we have provided these services on a volunteer basis to our target communities since 2004, as well as provided revenue-generating services to cover those related expenses.
We have not previously received grant funds.
We have a copy of our previously written grant application(s).
We have applied to one grant.
We do not have a fundraising packet.  I can certainly finish putting together a fundraising packet according to recommendations.
We have an agency mission statement: Our organization is a minority woman-run 501(c)3 organization dedicated to ending gender, race-, sexual-, and ethnic-based violence and discrimination, amplifying minority voices into positions of influence, and boosting gender, racial, and ethnic inclusive representation in arenas in which their perspectives are crucial yet seldom heard or considered necessary, all through gender-inclusive, culturally relevant Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) education for all. We achieve this by creating a network of community-based self-defense Instructors within marginalized and underserved communities that promotes and offers jobs and careers in ESD, providing continuing education for ESD Instructors and others in related fields, promoting and supporting ESD Instructors and program grads in entering and actively seeking positions of leadership locally and beyond, and creating and supporting a platform in which members of those communities can become and be recognized as experts in their safety, security, and advancement.
