Grant Writer Request #08192020A

Primary Purpose:
We need help to make sure grants are found, professional, and submitted on time.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
A. Description of the Issue
Every evening in many parts of the country, quarantined residents cheer for essential workers — doctors, nurses, and first responders — to thank them for their service. But the range of people we’re depending on to keep our economy going during the pandemic, take care of us and our loved ones, and keep us safe is much broader than that.
Our daycare is one of the few daycare centers still able to provide child care services to our current families and community. We have been doing our best to provide high-quality child care services in a safe, secure, and healthy environment to our staff and families that still have to work (essential workers), and in need of our services, and we would like to continue to do so.
In the absence of clear guidance, providers are coming up with their own safety protocols to keep operating while protecting everyone’s health and. So we have adopted many different procedures to keep with social distancing, protection, and cleanliness.

C. Goals, Objectives, and Deliverables
Our company has provided high-quality child care services, nutritional meals, transportation, and educational services to many families in New York State for a little of twelve years. We are definitely experiencing a business interruption which has caused a loss in income, staff, unpaid rent, unpaid utilities, extra expenses (food, supplies, gas, water, etc.) incurred in an attempt to continue operating safely and effectively during the interruption due to the coronavirus.
The goal of this program is to secure a grant that would support our efforts to continue to provide child care services for essential workers during the COVID 19 pandemic, who for one reason or the other are unable to keep their children at home. Essential workers are defined as parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response, including those who work in health and social care and in other critical sectors.

Specific objectives of the program are:
• To extend our working hours to provide 24 hours service
• To increase our staff strength to take more children. There is an increase in demand for child care services as many centers have opted to close for the meantime.
• To ensure that essential workers have the peace of mind required to focus on their jobs and keep the system running for the benefit of the general public.
As part of the program services within the daycare facility, strict social distancing guidelines will be followed, as well as protection through cleanliness.

- We are an NYS licensed group family daycare since 2009. We offer childcare for children 6 weeks old to 12 years old. We provide children with an age-appropriate curriculum that enhances social, emotional, cognitive, and language growth. We also offer tutoring sessions in various subjects and accommodate children's needs based on their skills and abilities. We prioritize in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment, while still offering a platform that promotes educational success.
