Primary Purpose:

My hometown (Jonesville, LA) is in dire need of beautification efforts. Jonesville is located on busy US Hwy 84 and receives thousands of out-of-town travelers every day. It has a unique history that is, unfortunately, been forgotten. Previously known as Troyville, Jonesville was the site of the second-largest Indian mound in North America. It also is the only site where 4 rivers meet in the US. Despite this unique history and prime location, the local government has failed to utilize available resources to promote our area and attract industry. This has resulted in a dying town that is unsightly to passers-by. There are a number of dilapidated buildings and structures that were once vibrant and thriving. Parking lots are empty and overgrown with weeds and trash. This only contributes further to our problem of attracting new businesses. Our schools are dying and nearly 1,000 children have been moved to nearby parishes simply to achieve a better education. I was born and raised in this parish and I know the potential that we have given the resources, which unfortunately haven't been sought out by our local government officials. If awarded, the funds would be used to revitalize old buildings and create an aesthetically appealing streetscape. Funds would also be used to clean up our walking trail and build a playground for underserved children.

Programming and Dollar Needs:

I suspect that revitalization and beautification efforts would require at least $250,000

Project Description:

Provide your hourly rate for research and locating grants for: 16 hours per week for 12 weeks. For a total of 192 hours.

Provide your hourly rate for writing curriculum for: 16 hours per week for 12 weeks. For a total of 192 hours.

Provide your hourly rate for crowdfunding mentoring for: 16 hours per week for 8 weeks. For a total of 128 hours.

The Grant Writer should be ready to begin work on: Immediately

Revenue for the nonprofit is generated through voluntary donations, which are limited due to poor economic conditions.
