Grant Writer Request #02262021B

Primary Purpose:
To help secure funding and filling out applications.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
A written editorial and a documentary film on missing Indigenous women in the US. Eleven young girls
have been reported missing in Montana alone, since January 2021. There are many more cases across the
country. Indigenous cases are widely unreported and perpetrators receive very low sentences compared to
their white counterparts. We would visit various locations across the US and work closely with tribal
members and activists including Mary Jane Oatman of The Indigenous Cannabis Coalition, Winona
LaDuke and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women USA. We would present the full breadth and
scope of this issue, speaking with families, law enforcement, attorneys, advocates and community
