Our primary purpose in seeking a grant writer is to ensure the grant is written professionally and expertly to the given specifications and is completed expeditiously toward meeting the grant deadline.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
Our music camp is always a “first-class” event that garners lots of wonderful and positive media coverage and public relations attention.
Our camp at the theater will include the following: teaching workshops, Jazz group, study time, performance time, speakers and mini raffles.
The significance of our camp is that campers get the opportunity to perform their musical selection with the professional rhythm section of stellar artists. This year we are fortunate to have verbal commitments from renowned artists
We have historically had 30-75 participants each year since 2014. And we safely mitigated COVID-19 risks last year in 2020 and we had 38 participants.
My fundraising efforts are to preclude charging kids a fee to participate.
Our working total budget expenses are $10,750 (includes the theater's nonprofit rental rate of $2,500 and $1,100 for the Union Labor).
As of Tuesday, April 20, 2021, I have raised $5,300 to date (including a $1,000 marketing sponsorship from KC Jazz ALIVE) and those funds are in the bank.
I have four months until August to raise $5,450 or more.
I am confident and optimistic that we can do it since our music camp is such a great program and all donations are tax-deductible.
