We are seeking a grant writer to help procure funding for recruiting physician volunteers and providing interpretive and medical services to patrons who are 200% below federal poverty guidelines.

We need funding to coordinate and administer the program, recruit physician volunteers, and provide interpretive federally required services to the patrons.

We are a nonprofit medical society offering free charitable donated care for people in the state of Iowa. We are the only access to free specialty health care to Iowans at risk. We are open statewide for those who are 200% below federal poverty guidelines and not eligible for any other assistance. We have 500 physician specialist members who volunteer their services coordinated by our office with community partners to provide care services, labs, testing, surgeries, follow-up care, care plans, and education for Iowans who are not insured or underinsured.

The VPN is a vital program that provides free quality specialty care to patients at the lowest acuity level. VPN patients receive care in the specialist office, including interpretive services and coordination of additional specialty care when needed. Educating the patient about health care risks and managing their health allows them to return to a productive and healthier life with dignity.
