I'm a member at GrantWatch but I don't have time or experience in grant writing. The longer I delay, the longer my vision is delayed. We are in Healthcare, Nutrition, Elderly Care, Sustainability, Youth/Schools, Family, Faith-based circles here in south Florida. I've seen grants for all those and more. I've begun to fill out applications for the JM Family Foundation grants available all year, TD bank (my own bank) has an application I started, and I'm just so short on time with 2 small businesses already underway and needing to take care of those to keep the bills paid.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
Our nonprofit is helping seniors, special needs and others in south Florida to learn to grow and use local, nourishing food, especially as south Florida has many food deserts and land is scarce, expensive and not so arable. Our methods are primarily soil-less, hydroponic, aeroponic and aquaponic, to grow food faster and more prolifically, vertically and without wasting water or causing nutrient runoff to create algae blooms/pollution. Using a few manufactured systems, as well as those we build ourselves, we offer community service hours to high school students & others. We need to build a volunteer force and begin to work with schools, churches, clubs and groups of many kinds, including team-building for corporate entities.
Horticultural therapy, nutrition for assisted living and group homes, we're also interested in building rooftop farms, condo and homeowner associations, particularly the 55+ kind. We're already in senior living (assisted living) and have made great progress with reducing and eliminating insulin use in our ALF home. This technology means easier gardening that seniors and disabled individuals can do. It's also great for recovery residences, veterans and others.
Our dollar needs can begin with all sizes of grants including half million but also even a few thousand can buy our first greenhouse. We'd like to work with someone ongoing, and we know there are some great grant writers out there.

Urban farming - Growing produce and teaching others to do this. ALFs need activities to comply with regulations, and gardening is hard for seniors in soil. Our way is much easier, being a benefit to both the ALFs and the seniors, as well as staff, increased well-being, engagement.
By selling systems and maintaining them, assisting with setup and learning. We're paid for this work but can do more with a budget to rely on and more web presence, social media, etc.
