Grant Writer Request #08022019C

Primary Purpose:
To secure all pertinent grants/RFQ's/Bids to aid in paying employees/therapists to see mental health clients.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
To secure all pertinent grants/RFQ's/Bids that would help to cover the mental health therapy costs of clients prior to an employee/therapist being credentialed/able to start seeing insurance clients. It takes 9-12 months for all new employees/therapists to be approved to start seeing clients who have health insurance so I need grants/RFQ's/Bids to pay them while waiting. I also need this alternate funding to pay for no-show clients because I am not legally allowed to bill insurance companies if a client doesn't appear (fraud). Without this funding, I am unable to get new employees because of these 2 reasons and therefore I have a very long waiting list of potential clients/referrals who need mental health services.
Project Description:
Provide your hourly rate for research and locating grants for: 1 hours per week for 52 weeks.   For a total of 52 hours.
Any grants/RFQ's/Bids pertinent to my needs.

Description of Services
Our private practice began in Stroudsburg, PA over 2 decades ago. Our staff currently consists of 10 unique, experienced, professional counselors who are dedicated to creating emotional well-being for individuals, communities, and society.
We implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because our thoughts control our feelings and our feelings control our actions. Every emotion that we feel relates to our well-being. We must try to achieve optimal wellness in order to keep away stress, reduce the risk of illness, and ensure positive interactions.

We strive to help all clients have a Healthy Cycle where they are functioning at full capacity physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Wellness is a way of being; It’s an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. It is an inner confidence... knowing that you can handle anything that comes your way. Being complete physically, mentally, and socially will allow the client to be free from sickness so that change and growth can occur.

We are mental health therapists/counselors who treat many different issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, behavior issues, couples counseling, personality disorders, sexual and substance abuse, OCD, anger, and victim counseling. Your mental health is what we strive to improve.
We have 2 board-certified art therapists. Younger clients or those who are intellectually limited are usually less capable and less comfortable expressing themselves via words, so art therapy facilitates their ability to make progress and to heal. Anyone of any age can benefit from art therapy, through creative expression.

Sexual Offender Treatment
Successful treatment is the prevention of further sexual offenses. This involves a model of intervention that is intensive and kindly confrontational in order to break through any denial so that total insight can be obtained. By interfering with offenders who would otherwise commit further sexual assaults, we hope to offer those who have been victimized, a sense of justice and restitution. Preventing further offenses is accomplished through evaluation, investigation, and confrontation of the offender in an individual and/or group setting. Through this process, an offender learns the pattern of his/her sexually assaultive behavior and is taught to take steps to interfere with this pattern. Relapse Prevention is addressed constantly throughout the program as offenders learn their preferences, warning signs, and behavior patterns.

Victims
The purpose of trauma treatment for a victim/survivor is to eliminate maladaptive or pathological symptoms that cause insufficient coping and distress. The victim is reminded that the abuse was not their fault and that they are now stronger and wiser than before the abuse. Negative feelings surrounding the abuse are explored so that they can diminish. Treatment will usually consist of weekly sessions of verbal therapy.

Batterers and Violent Offenders
Successful treatment is the prevention of further physical assaults. This involves a model of intervention that is intensive and intrusive. By interfering with offenders who would otherwise commit further physical assaults, we hope to offer those who have been victimized a sense of justice and restitution. Preventing further assaults is accomplished through evaluation, investigation, and confrontation of the offender in an individual and/or group setting. The element of Relapse Prevention is provided constantly throughout the program as offenders learn their warning signs and behavior patterns. This information is invaluable not only to the offender, but also to those who will be supervising the offender in the community. We now offer Domestic Violence groups, using the Duluth Model which is an evidenced based psycho-educational curriculum that is the industry’s standard. Group membership is open to individuals who have battered in romantic and non-romantic relationships and the duration is 26 weeks, with a rolling admission so that any client can enter the group at any time.

Drug & Alcohol
Overcoming an addiction to alcohol or drugs is rarely an easy process. Even in cases where individuals have a strong desire to end their chemical dependency, the disease of addiction, combined with the stresses of life, can create what feels like and overwhelming obstacle. Our therapists have many years of experience in drug and alcohol counseling. We help clients replace feelings of fear and helplessness with a systematic recovery plan for overcoming the addiction. Together, the client and therapist will create this personalized recovery plan based upon the client’s unique strengths and needs.

Evaluations
We do thorough evaluations for sexual offenders and violent offenders. These evaluations determine the dynamics associated with sexually inappropriate and violent behavior, compare the offender with known profiles of other offenders, provide a risk assessment, and make recommendations regarding safety issues and further treatment. The evaluations include information such as bio/psycho/social, mental health, legal, and substance use history. It is not designed to determine whether or not an assault occurred; One of the following must be present prior to an evaluation; (1) an admission of the assault by the offender, (2) an indicated or founded report of abuse, and/or (3) a criminal conviction for the assault. Psychosexual and Mental Health evaluations help to shine light on an individual's mental health status/issues and possible sexual issues.
