Primary Purpose:
I am a civil rights attorney and an Episcopal priest. I am writing a book to engage progressive Christians in faith-based public advocacy for greater social justice. Do to COVID, I need to stay sheltered due to health issues and need further help in completing the publication processes of comprehensive editing services, proofreading, indexing, and publicity. I am lacking grant writing skills and need help.
Programming and Dollar Needs:
I need $25,000 to cover the following publication activities for a 6x9 paperback book at approximately 60,000 words:
Line edit -$3500
Copy edit- $1750
proofreading- $750
Indexing- $1000
Total- $7000 (for pre-print publication activities)

Initial advertising - $5000 (Amazon, Google, social media)
Printing- $6000 (for Advanced Reading Copies, ARCs, and complimentary samples for bulk sales)
Publicity- $7000 (for a "hybridized PR campaign with a firm dedicated to authors. The firm helps me develop the PR plan, and I use the plan for self-promotion to cut down this expense which is quite expensive. I was quoted $18,000 for a full-service campaign, as an example).
Total- $18,000
Grand total- $25,000
Project Description:
Provide your hourly rate for research and locating grants for: 5 hours per month for 3 months.   For a total of 15 hours.
I am not sure how many hours are necessary for this research and am open to discussing recommendations from the grant writer.
Provide your hourly rate to set up and manage my YouHelp page: 5 hours per month for 2 months.   For a total of 10 hours.
I am not sure how this works and need more information on how to do this.

We presently provide or will be providing services in the geographic areas of: I am based in Michigan, but this work is national in scope, and potentially international.
This is a new mission/venture, and it is my hope to teach, write, speak, and preach about the intersection of the First Amendment protections for progressive Christians to speak out against injustice, racism, LGBTQ discrimination, economic exploitation, and human trafficking.
Current Revenue:
Not yet, that is why I need financial support to get the book edited, published, distributed and publicized.
Grant History:
This will be our first time applying for grant funding.
We have not previously received grant funds.
We do not have a copy of our previously written grant application(s).
We do not have a fundraising packet.  I am willing to create a fundraising packet with direction from the grant writer.
We have an agency mission statement: Using Hearts, Smarts, and the Arts, to achieve greater justice and peace.
