Grant Writer Wanted

Seeking an experienced Grant Writer to help secure public and private funding that directly supports our community programs across the Rockaway Peninsula and greater New York City. Our work includes: Annual toy, turkey, and coat giveaways Youth mentorship and scholarship initiatives Community-based relief and support programs We are a mission-driven organization focused on real outcomes, measurable impact, and long-term sustainability. Responsibilities Research and identify relevant grant opportunities (city, state, federal, and private foundations) Write, submit, and track grant proposals from start to finish Collaborate with leadership to translate programs into fundable narratives Ensure proposals align with funder guidelines, deadlines, and compliance requirements Maintain grant calendars, reporting requirements, and documentation Qualifications Proven experience securing grants for nonprofits (government or foundation funding preferred) Strong writing, research, and storytelling skills Ability to clearly articulate community impact and program outcomes Organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented Familiarity with NYC Council funding or public allocations is a plus What We Offer Flexible, remote contract work Opportunity to make a direct, tangible impact in underserved communities Competitive compensation based on experience and results Long-term collaboration potential as the foundation grows
